WHO I AM
I was born on May 12, 1950 in Lima, Peru.
Growing up in a wealthy Piedmontese family who emigrated to South America after the First World War, as a child I preferred a small suitcase to toy guns and little soldiers, which I always took with me on family trips... small signs of an innate love for travel.
Inspired by my two older brothers, both art enthusiasts, since I was a boy I began to distance myself from the commercial tasks to which my father dedicated himself on a daily basis, getting closer and closer to the joys of drawing.
My latent desire to travel manifested itself in adolescence, through numerous hitchhiking experiences that led me to discover a Peru "on the road".

Raised in a Piedmontese family emigrated to South America in the first postwar period, as a child, my favorite toy was a small briefcase that I always carried with me on family outings ... small signs of an innate love for travel ...
Inspired by my two older brothers, both passionate about art, since my childhood I started to get away from the commercial tasks to which my father dedicated himself every day, getting closer and closer to the joys of the drawing.
My latent desire for traveling manifested itself with adolescence, thanks to numerous experiences by hitchhiking that led me to discover an "on the road Perù".
At the age of 20, I decided to subscribe to the Academy of Fine Arts in Lima where the lack of caricaturist specialization was felt ... leading me to abandon it in favor of the hitchhiking trip to which I dedicated myself again for a few years. I kept this lifestyle up to 23 years old, when thinking of a future as a missionary (as a possible solution to the search for myself and my passions), I subscribed to the Faculty of Theology of Lima. Although this choice made me feeling partially satisfied, I gradually realized that neither of these roads would have been the right one! After five years, I, therefore, decided to go back to my hitchhiking trips (often exchanging rides with occasional jobs like loading / unloading of goods).
In the meantime, in addition to the Italian and Spanish languages which I already spoke fluently on a daily basis, I decided to also learn English and French to make my linguistic background even more international, and I decided to extend my learning to the language of the Incas, Quechua, in order to communicate more easily with the inhabitants of indigenous Peru.
I continued my adventures until 1979, when driven by the need to fulfill myself professionally, I took a tablet, some blank sheets of paper and a pencil and headed to the Miraflores park (Lima) to make caricatures of passers-by... it was a success!
Happy with the result, I also took my tablet to the international airport of Lima, bringing smiles to travelers from all over the world... so I decided to make caricatures a permanent job and those policemen who initially distrusted me became dear friends (for example everyone had their caricature made!).
In the early '90s, Perù was going through a bad time, both political and economic, which led me to take advantage of my dual citizenship to move to Italy with my family, in view of better horizons.
I found work as a tractor driver for a farm in the Asti area (my parents' land), which allowed me to guarantee the maintenance of my family in the following years.
The love for drawing and travel remained of course alive in me, and I was able to free them on weekends, touring as a traveling artist for local fairs and events.
Over the years I also received job offers from various agencies, but fearing that these would compromise that sense of artistic freedom always dear to me, I refused each time.
I continued dividing myself between campaign and caricatures until 2017, the year in which I retired.
Now I am finally free to devote myself exclusively to my three great passions: my family, my travels and entertain you with my caricatures!
Volendo provare l'ebbrezza di un viaggio più personale e duraturo, nel 1985 sposai una magnifica ragazza peruviana con la quale ebbi tre figli, trovando nella famiglia una costante di felicità che dura fino ad oggi.
Nei primi anni '90 il Perù attraversava un pessimo periodo politico ed economico, ciò mi portò ad approfittare della mia doppia cittadinanza per trasferirmi in Italia con la mia famiglia, in vista di migliori orizzonti.
Trovai lavoro per un'azienda agricola nell'Astigiano (terra dei miei genitori), e la nuova occupazione mi permise garantire il mantenimento della mia famiglia negli anni a seguire.
I continued to divide my time between vinyards works and caricatures until 2017, the year in which I retired.
Today I am finally free to dedicate myself exclusively to my three great passions: my family, my travels and entertaining you with my caricatures!
